About Me

When given a brief, I base my work on ideas rather than processes, but use certain methods to reinforce meaning behind the work. I like to work with a wide variety of materials thus expanding my knowledge of the properties of materials. The background of this page is an experiment of working with paper and activating it using itself, or accidental mark making. I can appreciate the creases and marks made; they give a regimented yet organic feel to the paper.

Light Work

I’ve taken this photograph from a different angle compared to the others, as the shadow casted is quiet pleasing for the eye. When I took the photo I took into consideration the angels, the hard lines and the structure of the lampshade relating back to the architecture of a pylon.

Light Work

This is my final product from the body of work exploring aspects of light , this photograph is of the green light bulb inside, and the image I’ve captured has a very strong atmospheric feel to it, very moody.  I’ve also recorded the decorated lampshade with different coloured light bulbs which convey different atmospheres.

Light Work

This piece I have experimented working with other materials to reinforce the meaning of electric/light. An electricity bill. This contains some colour in contrast to my black and white work and information regarding specific details of domestic usage.

Light Work

I’ve printed my ‘Pylon’ design onto a page of labels, leaving me with thirty six separate abstract images. But I’ve selected certain ones and placed carefully considering composition. I have also used black fine line pen to draw the remaining sections.

Journey Work

On these train tickets, I have varnish printed my ‘phone drawings’ onto the tickets to create layers. The line quality is a bit pixelated but works well with the typography on the tickets.

Journey Work

I varnished printed a photocopy of maps onto the tickets. The tickets work well individually as well as placed together.  I think it has interesting composition and flows well.

Skeleton Stitched Hand

Experiment for Body inspired work, I added colour to the glove using acrylic then trapped it within a plastic wallet. I inserted this into the heat compress for few seconds, this completely flattened it. The fingers of the glove merged together and lost shape, so I added bone structure using the sewing machine.
